The BACK into Life Rehab Program is for people who are suffering with pain and limitations from back pain that are looking for a way to get moving, stronger and more flexible.

The Problem with Backs
Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most common medical problems, with some reports showing that over 70% of people will suffer from pain in this area of the body.

Back pain can develop in a series of steps that can result in a viscous cycle of pain and recurrence.
The good news is that your back pain cycle can be shifted with a series of positive steps, including strengthening, mobility and improved movement patterns.

When an unpleasant stimulus is felt, guarding responses such as anxiety, muscle tension, altered or fear of movement and even sympathetic responses such as increased heart rate, rapid breathing etc can occur. In addition to this your Brain will influence your experience of pain.

Once there is apprehension of movement and activity avoidance, there is inhibited muscle activation and de-conditioning occurs. This  can make you more susceptible to recurring episodes and chronicity. Our 4 step program helps you break this cycle but only you can make a decision about getting  this help.

The support of our physiotherapist is an integral part of developing a positive attitude that change can be made, exercise is safe and pain does not necessarily mean injury or harm. Its not just what you gain by joining our classes, its also what you are at risk of losing if you dont.

Our 4 principle approach helps break the cycle of de-conditioning using the skills of our physiotherapists and targeted, safe and effective rehabilitation. This is not a Pilates Class.

What is Involved
The BACK into Life program consists of 8 classes over 8 weeks and your Physiotherapist will undertake your individual assessment prior to starting .This involves a thorough evaluation of your condition, understanding your short and long term goals and current levels of activity. We want to  structure your program around what you want to achieve as well as  improving your overall core strength and stability.

Our classes run weekly and are suited to all levels of ability and fitness, as your exercises are individually tailored and  classes have a maximum of 5 participants. No contracts, pay each week.

As Physios, we understand that getting started with an exercise program can seem challenging, especially when you are starting exercise after an extended period of inactivity or whilst also trying to manage other health conditions. We would love to help you get BACK into Life.
